Shafer Equipment Company Inc. New Building Development
Shafer Equipment Company Inc is thrilled to announce that business and the growth of the company have been so exceptional that a new building has begun development. Jay Shafer president of Shafer Equipment Company Inc. had officially broken ground on the newest project of advancement for the company in January 2026. The new location and future home of Shafer Equipment Company Inc. will be at 485 Western Road Reno, Nevada. The building will be 19,000+ square feet with 2 levels, it will have 25’-foot ceilings in shop area and is sitting on property that is 4 1/2acres. The building is scheduled for a completion date of October 15, 2026. With the help of some wonderful local blue-collar businesses in the trades getting the project completed from start to finish. The Saint Alphonsus North Meridian Health Plaza development in Meridian, Idaho
Shafer Equipment Company Inc. has exciting news for our Idaho location. A new project is beginning near our Idaho branch: the Saint Alphonsus North Meridian Health Plaza development in Meridian, Idaho. We are proud to supply equipment to Sunny Ridge Construction LLC, one of the local contractors working on the project. The 80,000-square-foot facility will expand access to primary and specialty medical care and is scheduled for completion in 2028. We are excited to support this important new healthcare facility for the community.
The AED Foundation’s – Knapheide Technicians of the Year Award
Shafer Equipment Company Inc. had the honor of attending the AED Foundation's Knapheide Technicians of the Year Award Ceremony to recognize their lead technician, Austin Fischer, who was selected as one of this year’s award recipients. The ceremony took place on Monday, January 19th in the Chantilly Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. It honored skilled technicians in the construction and heavy equipment industry with regional awards and encouraged career growth. The AED Foundation's 10th Annual Gala & Live Auction successfully raised over $485,000, emphasizing the significance of technician careers. The event not only addressed the ongoing technician shortage but also actively promoted industry-related career opportunities to students, parents, educators, and other stakeholders. Shafer Equipment Co was pleased to have one of our technicians participate in the Knapheide Technicians of the Year Award. It was an exceptional event to attend, Shafer Equipment Company Inc. looks forward to participating in future years to come.
Pink-Belt Tour 2025
Shafer Equipment Company, Inc. Was invited to participate in the Pink-Belt *Diggin’ For A Cure* tour. While the Pink-Belt embarks on a nationwide journey in late March of 2025. Shafer Equipment Company had the honor of hosting the Pink-Belt machine at our Nampa, ID location. The event had a great turnout with hundreds of people from all over the area coming by to attend and get a view of this amazing excavator. The machine will journey across the nation to raise awareness about breast cancer support and research and is set to arrive at the Con Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, in March 2026. Once the Pink-Belt has been showcased at participating dealers nationwide, it will be auctioned off, and all proceeds will go to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation and CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation's Yes, Mamm! program. As the Auction approaches, anticipation grows among those eager to participate in such a wonderful cause.
The 2023 Nevada Future farmers of America sporting Clay shoot Competition
Shafer Equipment Company, Inc. On Saturday, September 16, 2023, Employee Jim Crouse & guests arrived in Gardnerville Nevada, at the Carson Valley Clays Shooting facility, to compete in the annual FFA sporting clays event. The 5-man team had been arranged by Shafer Equipment Company’s sales rep Jim Crouse, to take part in the Clay’s shooting competition for the FFA Foundation. The competition is a fun opportunity to have people come together in support of the Nevada FFA and support the agricultural education for students within Nevada. Funds generated from the shoot are used to support the development of young agriculture students. Shafer Equipment’s 5 -person team consisted of Jim Crouse, Logan Liles, Cliff Osborne, Jay Yankoski & Son Joseph Yankoski. Logan Liles is 14yrs old, and he is a member of the Carson City Hot Shots Clay Target Program. The program is a team-based youth development and is educational for boys and girls learning to shoot. Jay Yankoskie is an NRA Level 1 certified coach & 4-H state youth shooting sports instructor and has been volunteering with the Hot Shots since 2014. Jay is a Team Administrator & Head Coach for Sporting Clays and Skeet. Out of the 29 teams that competed, the Shafer equipment company’s team was victorious with a winning score of 448. Jim Crouse had the individual runner-up score of 94. The team was deemed the HOA team (High over all). The team had a fantastic time Participating in the competition, and a great time was had by all.
Trusted Dealership for Rokbak Sales & Rentals
Shafer Equipment Company, Inc. has been a long-term Dealer for Rokbak Articulated Trucks, In August of 2023 Shafer Equipment was recognized as a trusted dealership for continuing to provide customers with Rokbak trucks for rental & sale. Rokbak trucks have proven to be reliable quality machines. One of Shafer Equipment’s well known customers, Reno Tahoe Construction also referred to as RTC, had reached out to Shafer Equipment Company when it was granted a very large excavation project. The project is so massive it is 107,000 acres, it’s the largest industrial park in the world
ROKBAK has recognized RTC for the hard work they have been doing within the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center. This massive project requires the use of a Rokbak RA40 articulated hauler. This is exactly the type of project the RA40 was designed for & RTC is putting the ROKBAK hauler to work. They have hauled and placed over three million cubic yards of fill material, with another 2.8 million cubic yards yet to go, over 230 acres. The RA40’S performance has proven to be the best and is an extremely vital piece of equipment.

Celebrating 20 Years In Business
Shafer equipment Company, Inc. celebrated a milestone of 20 years in business. Jay Shafer founded the family-owned company in 2003. “20 years is a great accomplishment and worth celebrating,” said Jay. Jay and his staff held a celebration party to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of the company. The celebration party for the 20yr milestone was a free event for customers to attend. Enjoying drinks and food at the Sparks Nevada location, where they had various pieces of equipment on display for all to see. The event brought well over 200 people by the dealership to celebrate with Jay Shafer and his staff members. Shafer Equipment looks forward to the future, we will continue to work hard to accomplish future goals.
Top 6 total parts increase 2021, Sandvik Rock Processing North America
Shafer Equipment Company, Inc. was #1 in Sandvik Rock Processing’s North Americas Top 6 Award for total parts increase in 2021. At Shafer Equipment we take pride in providing excellence in customer support with every aspect. Our business grew dramatically from 2020-2021. We had a 360% increase in 2021 over our prior year. There were several factors that helped us with the increase, A big part of it being Hammer sales. We also were able to supply our customers with any Hammer tools needed & with the use of Sandvik’s Hammer rebuild program. Sandvik rebuilt Hammers carry a 1-year warranty. Shafer Equipment is grateful to our customers who are responsible for our successes and appreciate the acknowledgement by Sandvik Rock Processing North America.

NNCCF has provided more than $6 million in direct financial assistance to local families, all through local funding. We have always had a good rental market, but a few big projects is what helped us with recent success in the articulated truck market. Our business grew dramatically from 2020-2021. We had about 40% growth attributed to a large project we helped supply and good old fashioned hard work by our sales group increased our Sales, Rentals, Parts & Service departments. Our customers use the 40-ton haulers to move large quantities of dirt & rock. Pink Belt 2020
Shafer Equipment Company inc. participated in a charity auction for CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation's The Pink-Belt in March of 2020. With great honor the company had placed the winning bid of $145,000.00 to bring home the pink excavator to their dealership in Sparks Nv. Jay Shafer President of Shafer Equipment Company Inc.– "All of us at Shafer Equipment Company are proud to be a part of the Pink-Belt drive for breast cancer awareness." "My family personally and every family I know has had this tragedy strike their family. Early detection is key, and I hope our part helps woman get the screening they need." The Pink-Belt will go into the rental fleet to continue spreading awareness from jobsite to jobsite, until a lucky customer gets to take her home.
